Get a dock with a good light - tos a small white fly and hang on.
Best bet would be off course with a boat and head into an area
with big houses that have their own docks - residential areas with canals
thus.
I did the dockfishing in Naples with Capt. Mark Ward in Port Royal and from a dock at one of the big condo's (where I was eventually kicked off by the condo police).

Ehh ... I am Dutch
Well to be precise 50% Dutch / 50% German.
The dock I fished by foot was loaded with Snook as you can
see on the pictures.
The problem is that those fish are off course not stupid and after
you catch a couple you noticed that the fish will smarten up.
It was curious to also see big jacks hanging around the light.
The reel surprise came when dolphins raided the dock in the
middle of the night.
Say goodbye to fishing then.
Some of the local inhabitants do not appreciate visitors at their docks and turn the lights out when you fish there.
Usually there are enough spots available to fish, also dockside restaurants might be worth a try if that is possible |

Sorry Marcel..I knew very well that you are Dutch, but forgot
That must be the same as when people think that Denmark is the capital of IKEA
But thanks for your advice,
I'll see if we can find some dock lights....You found a lot of snook there!
Thanks |
