| I've recently seen advertisements for these reels an seem them at a couple local tackle shops but I have never heard of them. I noticed they're reasonably inexpensive an they say they're warranty is if it can't be fixed the simply replace it! This all seems too good to be true... If any one knows any thing it would be awesome to know some information...if not I'll just have to buy one an right a review so people can have some info lol |

After a little research this is what I found..
The Alpha reel is made of bar stock aluminum and stainless steel. The finish reel is polished an looks pretty bad ass if I may say lol. It's drag system consists of a large diameter carbon disc, the Allen Co. says the carbon allows for a stronger grab. The alpha also has an 'anti tangle' counter balanced reel, 1+2 bb (never heard of that myself?), a good large sized knob for the drag, an a exposed palm ring which from the pictures I have found look like it is actually a smooth an comfortable reel when palming during a fishes run. The Alpha ranges from $90-110(plus shipping). All together looks like a nice reel for an even nicer price.
The Trout Series has the same drag system as the Alpha does, but is made from anodized 6061 bar stock aluminum. This reel also comes with an over sized drag knob, which to me sounds like that would be nice to have(just my .02). I couldn't really find a whole lot on the Trout Series besides the basics.I did find the specifications for the 5/7w reel: 3.68"Diameter, 5.41oz, .625"Spool Depth, 1.06"Spool Width, wwf #5 + 110m/20Capacity. That reel is $115.
Overall these reels seem solid. I have yet to find some one that has used them so I intend to buy one as soon as I can an I'll just have to post how they perform. |

| Having personally dealt with Justin at Allen Fly, I can attest to his honesty and desire to please his customers. His hooks are great and the price is unbelievable. They are always coming out with new styles of hooks too. I am going to get one of his fly reels myself as soon as I can. |

| I have a first gen Alpha and its a very nice reel for the low cost. I have the size 9-10 and use it as a spey reel. I have used this reel for about 4 years or so and it has handled anything I have been fortunate enough to hook without any issues. Do not know anything about the warranty since I have had nothing fail on it, knock on wood lol! |
