ahhh - the home phone - i am starting to think that it is just a tool for tele-marketers to use----- i can't remember the last time someone that i know actually called me or anyone in my family on our house phone - cellular day and night - land line is like a dinasour ----- in fact --- i should get rid of it entirely ---- although i feel like those telemarkerters are close friends now .... i love how they know call and have the nerve to play a RECORDED message - they have really reached a new form of scum. Very Happy

I hear ya. Easy though. I'm a phone company employee. Land lines. I sell business services. More of a need there.

If anything for the home phone, you have 911 service. Cell technology is 100 percent 911 compliant........yet. Very Happy

I have the land line for the fax but I have a second line that I leave up just for telemarketers. I don't have a reciever for it. It is great when they call. It just rings and rings and noone ever answers. That has got to be so annoying for them. I love it!

I know how much fun it can be playing games with telemarketers but you should consider getting on the National Do Not Call List. I went on it about 9 months ago and the calls have all but stopped. There is an occasional call but just mention you are on the list and they quickly let you go. It takes a few months for it to kick in but costs you nothing to register. The telemarketing groups are trying to make it legal to use cell phone numbers for telemarketing purposes but for now it remains the only hassle free zone if you don't get registered.
