After the flyfair it was business as usual again.
At my German stream a rainbow trout had been eluding me for several weeks now and my mission was to get a close up look of the fish this time.

The waterlevels in the river where really low but still enough to fish the spot where I had the last contact with the trout on a previous occasion.

Stream below the watermill.

The rainbow trout in question was hiding among a set of willow trees in a fast flowing section of the stream.
The rest of the trout in the stream where cleared out by the baitfishing guys but this spot was out of their range due to the snags.
I carefully manouvred the streamer along the submerged branches downstream and then stripped the streamer in.
A shadow lunged out from the branches and hit the streamer, this time the fish stayed on.
The trout put up a very good fight and I almost thought the trout would win when he dove in the direction of the snags.
Luckily I could coax the fish into the other direction and after a good fight I could land and release the fish.

Nice rainbowtrout.

A perfect ending for a perfect weekend.
