So after a long extensive search for a nice stream or river in my neck of the wood in Germany, I decided to go and scout out this river 20k's away from where I live, went to a very small village where the river wind itself on the outskirt of the town, park my car and walk over an old bridge over looking the Frank Saale River, water look very clear and calm as I got a clear view I could start counting the Trouts and numerous other kind of fish.
Next day I kind of coax my fishing buddy Jose out of work so we can do some more scouting and find the place to buy or daliy fishing permit, but had to go back to the unit because of numerous phone calls and didn't want to arouse suspicion, but I finally manage to find the place after a very long meeting with my Commander and First Sergeant, finally got into the River at about 2035hrs and got a solid but light hit on my fly, the fish no Idea what it is, I'm still trying to learn the species of fish here in europe, but manage to to land 5 of them all the same species various size.

anyone have any clue what this fish is?

So after some few more cast I manage to go up in size just a little though, seems like the more I catch the bigger they seem to get.

same specie

The river was very calm even though it got windy torward the end of my day.

north section of the Frk. Saale

I finally decide to get ready and head on back and made a few last cast, in an attempt to land a new kind of fish, as a pully my line in slowly a Solid Tug, and a splash..!, saw a glimpse of silver this fish was about 12 to 14 inches in lenghth, then the sad violin music started to play in my head, as I felt the tension in my line suddenly dissapear, couldn't tell you what it was, but I'll be back tomorrow

At first glance I would say a Dace, fast little buggers that can spit out a dry fly at lightning speed.
If there a Dace than you also have a chance to catch a chub which can grow pretty big.

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see what you will get next.
