Hello everyone,
I am new to the site and really like it so far. I was woundering if any one is using or has used the Sage bass rods down in Florida salt. Any input would be great i'm thinking of adding one to the collection.

hello redDuck and welcome,

last spring Tom Shadley and I were fishing around Naples and testing rods and lines. I got to cast the Sage Bass rod and it did measure up at the hit-the-pocket distances near the Mangrove shoreline. It's a short stick and a heavy line but it's a bull of a rod. Not real attractive, it has kind of a sicky yellow color and the wraps clash but I wouldn't focus on that aspect if you're serious about having one in the boat. It's definately a cannon and I'd cast one all day if someone gave me one. Comes with it's own line too. Since I began working at Tom's fly shop we must have sold a dozen or more to regular local customers who all own many rods. I watched them practice-cast them out back of the shop and everyone likes them.

btw, I have a few rods I'm selling Wink
