So I finally decide what the Heck !, had a Week off, drove down south of Germany past Munich, was contemplating if I should stop by the October Fest down there, but the fish was calling, my destination the Salzach River in Northern Austria.

The location I was at was breathtaking, very beautiful River surrounded by mountains on both sides, my priority Graylings, stayed in town for three days, the first day was more sightseeing then anything, the first day caught numberous Brown trout and one grayling toward the end of the day, called it quits, realized I was on an island and the water level was rising.

The last day, I had more luck with Graylings, was my first time ever fishing for these beautiful fish, switch out my nymph for a dry fly when the were rising to feed, after that it was Graylings after Graylings.

So I finally broke myself in, Knocked out two birds with one stone, caught my first European Trout and my First Grayling ever, definately I'll come back down to Austria again.

I have a fly shop in Florence Italy and I can tell you that there is a river not more than 1 and a half hours from Florence that has both european grayling and browns. This way Jeremy you can do a lttle sight seeing an fishing. And Ill be glad to help you, Troutbone, if you are ever back that way.

nicko -- very cool, and thank you for the invite!! italy would be a wonderful place to visit and fish someday. it would be an honor to cast a fly in your countries water. also, europe seems like a great place to travel with a fly rod .. as the train systems could take a fisherman to various countries and regions and places to fish...

ps.... if i do make it to itally what about food? is it readily available and tolerable to eat? Very Happy .. just kidding, of course Very Happy .. i think i might come back 10 pounds heavier after a fishing trip to italy .. i love italian food.

Good job Troutbone! If I knew you would be there I would definitely come and join you.

I am travelling to the area of Salzach tomorrow and will be fishing until Sunday. However, this time I have decided to skip Salzach and fish in Fuscher Ache which flows to Salzach
