Fly Fishing

Hey - fishking7 - you said you are tying up some flies for dave - he will need some adams wet flies....i would argue that this is my most effective fly. I typically fish it as a dropper off a prince nymph and fish it on the swing - trout and salmon just love it...looks kinda like emerger when in the swinging motion.,,anyway here is the pattern,.

great, jeremy thanks, I will ty up some of them. Do you want them like that, or should i put a bead head on them?

how funny - never heard of the wet fly with a bead head.....but i LIKE IT! Can you tie me a few like that with the bead head. I know it will be a killer fly.....what should we call it. it does not have to look just like the adams...in fact olive would probably be better than gray - but whatever.. i like the idea of the beadhead

What would be sweet would be a black bead head on one of those puppys. Jeremy, i'm gonna tie some more of these so I can use them for nymphing with you, what sizes? Tungsten or lead bead? I currently have 16's and 18's. Thanks. Tight lines

What sizes should i do for dave? Im planning on doing them in 14 with some beads and some not. I think we should call it a "Wet Mainer" Smile

I was watching a show on OLN this weekend, Flyfishing America, I think it was. They showed a fly that is popular in N. Carolina called a "Sheep Fly" . I think it was supposed to mimic what I've always heard of as horseflies, a large biting fly.

Looked just like your adams wet except the wings were tied flat against the body.
