Hey Mark (Striper69) - Told ya I would get that video done! Now you have something to watch this winter until we start doing it again in a couple months. Thanks for helping me out with learning how to sight fish effectively for these fish. This season was a big learning experience for me in terms of fishing the skinny water for the stripers. I fished for stripers with a bunch of friends this year, and for whatever reason - this must have been the year for me to "see the light." I gotta be honest, it is a lot of fun and a new game. I love the hunting aspect and lack of casting. No need to cast unless you see a fish, and like the permit and bonefish ... you get one shot to make a good cast and present the fly well. And these fish were hard to get to eat! Getting them to see the fly and turn on it was not so bad, but to get them to commit to eating the fly was really challenging. I can't wait for this spring to start hunting them again. Is anyone else out there into sight fishing for the stripers these days? If so, what types of flies do you like to throw. Seemed that the "go to" fly pattern (generally speaking) was sand eel and crab type patterns. Curious what other flies people like to tie (or buy) for stripers in skinny water.

I haven't sight fished for stripers before! But that's my goal this summer to get into some skinny water fishing. Does anyone know if there are many wading locations to sight fish from? I'm hoping to pick up a kayak, but my own two feet I'm sure of having.
