I found an old fiberglass Berkley rod and reel and I'm having a hard time learning much about it. All I know is that the rod is marked #40 HG and the reel is a Berkley 520. It was a family members from around 30 yrs. ago and I don't now much about rods. Does any body know any thing about this or where i can find out when it was made? Does it have any value or should I just throw it back in the closet where I found it?

Don't know much about Berkley fly rods but know that they used to mark the rods with letters to define the weight. I am amusing this is a mass produced rod and doesn't have much value; but I could be way wrong. Don't throw it back in the closet, fish with it!!!!!
