So I was flying to Boston from LA last year, get seated next to a beautiful Lithuanian girl & get to chatting. After my attempt to get her to meet me in the south of france fails, I realize that I'm going to have to meet her halfway....or all the way to friggin Lithuania. I need more of an excuse to go than just some pretty girl....

Has anyone ever ventured out there? I know Norway has great salmon & "sea trout" fishing but can't find much about Lithuania or the rest of northern Europe.

Thoughts?

Hi there, My wife is from Lithuania but i never had enough time to fish is seriously.
There are many possibilities to fish the fly over there.
Try to search the internet with a little help from google-translate.
Also a few information is found in english. salmonatlas dot com, flyfishing dot lt and museline dot lt to name a few.
A license could be found in a fishing shop together with more local information.
Some rivers are: The Merkys River, The Varena River, Ula, Vilnia, Voke, Neris, Nemunas, Sventoji, Zeimena and many more. Targets are mainly brown trout and grayling. People used to eat all fish, but Catch & Release is becoming more popular now.
But do you really think you have time to fish if you're there? Wink
The beer is good, the country and the girls are very beautiful.

Greetings,
Wouter
