Where is the best place or area that I would find Jacks on the east coast of Florida? Any specific signs, areas, or special landmarks to look for? Every once in a while I will right at the shore line near a beach or some shallow water rocks like a Ponce inlet or Canveral and I will see anywhere from 3 to 6 Jacks swim really fast near me and i never have a chance to get to them by the time I get my rod out. I see this happen once in a blue moon or so and I have been seeing this more often now. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Way back when I still visited Ft. Lauderdale I used to catch them
while blindcasting the jetty north at Port Everglades inlet.
Also caught them while fishing from the kayak inside the ICW near
the floating dock at Las Olas Blvd.

There where many roaming the charterboat marina at Bahia mar.
When they cleaned their catch there and tossed the fishparts overboard
the resident marina jacks would go crazy.
Those fish where big and would pretty easy ruin your flyline due to all the pilings, no way to fish there from shore though.

Also caught them off the beach but as you stated you gotta be fast when you see them or they are gone.
I often caught them as they where herding bait on to shore which was during the fall bait run.
