wsup,
I'm looking for some input on a lightweight, somewhat packable cataraft (40-50lbs). I am a man of quality and don't mind spending cash on reputable names but do realize cost doesn't necessarily mean quality. Although I respect my gear, I tend to be abusive. Any info is greatly appreciated. To the gills,

The best packable/ light weight personal watercraft on the market are the Watermasters http://www.bigskyinflatables.com/
They are basically a mini raft and pack down and come with backpack style bags to carry. The plus is they have an integrated oar system so you don't need a frame. Very stable and have room to pack stuff in the back for overnight trips. I have taken through class 2,3 and 4 rapids with no problems..... they are pricey, but way worth the cost. I had a friend just buy one on Craig's List for $200, old with patches, but still floating! |
