I Was looking at the Sage vt2 line in a 10wt for salt water, stripers, blues, and chucking 2/0 half and halfs for big smallies and muskys on the susquehanna don't want to go over 500$ for a rod. I was also looking at the albright stuff as well, but would rather suport a company that keeps it in the states.
Your thoughts:

Dann,
As far as bang for the buck, I love the VT2!! I thought it cast great, and I would love to add one to my collection. And in my opinion, you can never go wrong with a Sage. But, if you are trying to keep the cost down, I would also check out TFO rods and the Redington CPX. They are half as much $ and are fantastic. They both have an unconditional warranty and can stand up to most fish. My CPX 1owt has stopped some pretty big Tarpon and Albies without any issues. Good luck with your new purchase. |
