So I was looking through the forum and there wasn't much about smallmouth so I thought I would start a new topic on Spring smallmouth. For those who haven't experienced smallmouth bass on a fly rod before, I suggest you do so. They are hard fighting fish and will take a fly in a super aggressive manner. Right about now some smallmouth bass are moving into position to spawn out east here and have been moving up the rivers in the midwest for a couple weeks now. I can't seem to figure out how to put the pictures up on here, but I wrote a blog entry about smallmouth flies and gear on my blog. http://flybible.blogspot.com/2011/05/its-smallmouth-time.html

I guess the point of this new topic is just to hear what everyone likes to use for smallmouth. Favorite flies, gear etc.

Clousers Clousers Clousers. I hale from the same area as Bob Clouser and most of the time the clouser dose it. I also like seducers and suspenders. right now the Susquehanna has been up and down and to high for my canoe or rock hopping, so maybe when I get back from Fla the river will be lower.
