On the advice of MarshallD, I took to the fly shop and eventually the beach for some snook fishing.
To my delight I saw many snook cruising offshore. After a few fly changes, I hooked into my first ever snook. What a rush! Primal instincts may have kicked in because I seem to be holding her a little tighter than I remember. No need to worry, however, she swam off just fine.
After this came another.
And to cap the night off, I caught what I believe to be the largest of them all.
Thank you for your advice Marshall and thank you all for reading. I'll be in the area for another few weeks, so I hope to catch many more fish and eventually submit a story about Winter break '11-'12.
