dan =

gonna be down RI memorial day weekend also sept 11,12,13, 14 with my friend jason from utah - get some time off - so we can chase the albies....stripers and blues should be thick then too right???

Hey dan and all other saltwater guys....with the cool air approaching and reports getting better - i find myself be pulled towards the ocean. yup. albies are in...bluefin reports are good around maine to new hamphsire...stripers should be schooling back up and on the bait and same with blue fish.. so i embark on the annual balancing act of pursuing cold water fresh water trout/salmon species and hot/big salt water species. typically, it always seems that i like whichever one i am doing at that point and time better. by that i mean...the fall is so good for trout/salmon stuff that when i am fly fishing for them...i say "man, forget the salt...i love the rivers.".......BUT then i hook a nice striper, get in a bluefish blitz, chase the blue fin or hook an albie...then i say, "man, forget those rivers....who needs those 20 inch fish when i could be hooking red hot salt water fish that will take me way into my backing." - then i go to the rivers and it goes back and forth like this until the saltwater dies down and my only options are going to florida or somewhere warm for saltwater species or going steelheading. oh...the trials and tribulations we go through Very Happy

Jeremy,

The BONITO are here now in big numbers. Marc and I have been catching them on the fly off the West Wall. Bluefin tuna are everywhere, but there are FEDS in boats handing out tickets to those that are targeting them. So be fore warned. If you catch one and someone starts asking questions, tell them you thought you were casting to bluefish.

Can't wait for you guys to get down here and in on the action.
