hi -- i am from east coast .. i would recommend coming in mid-lat september ... the northeast is very small .. all of our states are within a couple hours driving ... so here is the simple solution for you.

fly into boston, massachusetts. rent a car and be flexible .. if you are looking for stripers, bluefish and albacore/bonito .. you have many options .. and you could have much fun by seeing different areas and fishing ... you could do the following..

maine - southern maine - portland area
massachusetts - plum island area, cape cod, marthas vineyard
rhode island - narraganset, newport
connecticut - stonington

---- all of these are only within a couple hours of boston airport .. and all of these areas coast lines have excellent striped bass and bluefish opportunities ... although albacore and bonito will only be possible on marthas vineyard, rhode island and connecticut...

ps .. in september the hotel/motel prices in these beach areas will be affordable because the "busy" tourist season ends after august .. and the fishing gets great in mid septmber ...
