Hey,
I know there are alot of people out there wondering about the uses of spey for saltwater .. especially in the Northeast USA ... but obviously the spey casts and rods and techniquest etc.. could be applied to any saltwater application .. If there are any guys out there who have used the spey in saltwater for stripers, bluefish, albies .. or whatever ... would love to hear what you recommend for a startup/versatile setup that will cover, as much as possible, all of the basis and situations... thanks.

I have no experence yet spey fishing in the Salt. When I inquired about what might be needed to fish in the salt the local shop suggested the Rio Outbound fly line. I have also heard the big boy heads work well but have no experence with either. I will let everyone know how I make up when I eventually make the transition.

I currently have multiple lines, and if we get together at some point, I can let you try any or all of them as they are each on a spool. I have a short head line, and medium belly line and a long belly line in 9 wt. In 10 wt I have a short head line and a Rio Windcutter versa-tip (that I haven't used yet) Next year I want to try a skagit head line and Rio's Outbound for the heavy striper flies I toss.
The Redshed in Idaho is a great spey resource and will ship you multiple lines to try before you buy (with credit card number in his possession of course) you send him back the lines you don't wnat and pay for the ones you damage or do want to buy.
