Now that the dead of winter has most of the nation in an icy death grip, naturally are minds are wandering to that special place, where we slay plump trout with surface offerings. I'm not asking for GPS coordinates, just what you feel comfortable sharing. I have to go with:

hey whip, right river, wrong hatch.....Green Drakes hands down. Can't catch them every year no matter how hard you try and when the fish are grabbing the tails and sucking them under....maddening.

i don't do much still water fly fishing ... BUT ... when the hex's are coming off here in maine at XYZ brook trout pond(s) that my friend boz takes me to .... it is pure nirvana ...... bugs, the size of small birds fly out of the water and the small ponds start boiling with native maine brook trout of all sizes ......

Caddis in June on the West Branch of the Penobscot.

Hendricksons on the Rapid in May.

Hexes all over the Northwoods Ponds Try Round Pond... Very Happy

Salmonflys and Stones on the Branch...and watching Jeremy throw a chicken size fly and seeing fish nail it...hilarious!
