I headed to Japan this summer for a three month stay. I know they fly fish and have small stream trout fishing but I don't have a clue as to how to find access. I'll be staying near Osaka/Kyoto but plan on traveling all over. Hoping to take my 3-piece SP in my backpack and give it a workout.

Obviously I understand the limitations relitive to North America, but I like to try the whole experience of Fly fishing in Japan.

Any good contact sites or fishing groups to meet Japanese anglers would be greatly appreciated.

good stuff man ... sounds like a killer adventure to a kind of uncharted territory ... i ran across these sites .. and they have great (non sales related) info ... just seems like good solid information without a sales pitch ....

www.rise3.com/english/ - this one seems like its kind of a hoppy site run by a japanes fly fisherman .. his email is on the site ... so, he might not mind an email .. worth a shot

www.ozemail.com.au/~kamosida/Japan.htm - this one is more kinda like wikopedia format .. but some interesting information with insects, maps and more ...

good luck -- bring a camera ..... fly fishing may be "new" to japan ..but technology certainly isn't .. i am sure you cross paths with some internet connectivity in your travels ... if so, let us know how you are doing..
