I am looking to try for some early season Brown Trout in local ponds. They have been recently stocked and I would like to give it a shot. My advice so far on flies has been soft hackles. Could anyone give me any insight into what else may be an option, along with how to fish it. I personally was considering tying up some zonkers tonight and bringing them along. Any help would be appreciated.

I would bring a sink tip with you. Depth charge 200 grains at a minimum.

Yeah, I dont have one. Not an option at this point. Thanks though. I went out and did fair on soft hackles. It was nice to see some trout.
