Going to Puerto Rico first week of April. Anyone know of a good guide near San Juan? Anyone know anything about fly fishing anywhere on the island?
Thanks

I've heard there is some good urban tarpon fishing there, but have no personal experience in that area.

Last time down we used Capt. Till Brauer who runs Quick Silver Fishing Charters (http://www.quicksilver-fishing.com) out of Cangrejos Yacht Club. Till can be reached at Telephone : 787-448-6665 email captain@onelinkpr.net

We fished the Laguna La Torrecilla for Tarpon which is very near the Airport and close to San Juan. We had a fun trip and I would use Til again.

hmmm Rolling Eyes I guess I really need to answer this carefully.
Yes and Yes Very Happy

We boated many small Tarpon but I was unsucessful using flies. My wife was light lining live baitfish with spinning gear and did very well. There was certainly no shortage of targets to cast to during our 1/2 day trip which was in late November a few years back.

Nice work. They are tough customers on the fly.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately Capt. Till is not available in the smalll window I have. I am seeing if they have another guide.
I've been researching it and it seems like a few of the other guides offer a credit of up to $100 if you don't hook a tarpon on your trip. Can't wait.
This is probably the first time I think I can say I DON'T want that $100!
