I am getting a steelhead itch - was wondering if anyone out there has any great lake steelhead info - water levels - catching any fish - temps...don't have to tell me where ---just looking for a reason to go ----- feel free to even lie to me - i am dying to hear "yeah there are steelies being caught" --- I heard of a guy a few weeks ago getting plenty of hook ups in -14 degree temps. i am hard core - but that is just a little too hard. looks like we are getting a little warm weather. let me know.

Jeremy,

I live in Syracuse, NY. I'm about 30 min. South of the Salmon River. Were banging them pretty hard the past two weeks. Warming air and water temps have created a feeding frenzy. Water levels are sweet also (500 cfs) If your heading this way bring Black stone flies size 8 to 14 and concentrate on the upper river. Feel free to e-mail me for more specific areas of the river that are fishing well.

one of my best fly fishing buddies, pete, is from western mass - he called me and said he IS going to the salmon river this weekend - i had him shoot you an email. hope you don't mind - i think he is leaving at 4 am or something - don't know if he did email you - but just wanted to give you a heads up. i hope he gets into some fish.

weather and conditions are good - thats for sure 41 degrees on sat and 45 on sun - oh man....its too good. I WISH I COULD BE THERE THIS WEEKEND.

Hey guys, I also live in Syracuse. I'm jonesing for a steelhead trip too.

Back about 20 years ago, I used to go up and fish them on hardware and egg sacks, even tho' I've always been pretty much a fly-fisher.

I think I'm finally ready to go and put my trout stream nymphing tactics to the test. I was going yo go today (sunny and 40 deg) but my houshold "chores" got the best of me.

waterwhippa, I'm going to shoot you a pm, if you don't mind.

rw
