While I was tying some early season egg-sucking buggers this morning over coffee the others I was tying with were heavy into the striper flies. I know your not the only one jonesing around here. My prediction is the first week in May.

Hi guys...
New to the site, like the videos a lot. When ever I'm asked when do the stripers show up, I tell people April 45th.... then they look at me real funny for a bit. Seems like every year that's roughly the time they show up where I fish.
My Dad who is retired seems to be finding them mid-day earlier than that. I think the water temps have a lot to do with the migration.. seems lime it better be at least low to mid 50degrees.
I haven't had the usual dreams about fishing on my front lawn, or tuna-sized stripers.. it happens this time of year.
I also keep an eye on stripersurf.com to follow the run north.
word is usually early April for southern Maine stripers
