Fly Fishing

What a cluster today. I went fishing at the sportsmans pool in Pulaski. When I got there there were a fair amount cars but not as much as I was expecting to be there. ANyways, I made my way upstream to a spot that I had located a few years ago and wouldn't you know it, people were crawling ovr it like ants on a hill. i guess I should have gotten there sooner. No biggie, so I trudged along until I came to a nice deep run and sent my egg sucking leech into the water. My strike indicator went nuts and I was on a beautiful chrome! As I was fighting it I noticed a drift boat getting closer and closer and closer. I yelled fish on so that he would stop coming to me but he and his two passengers just kept staring at me as I fought my fish and kept getting closer. So close in fact that the dips@#t rowed right into my line and snapped me free. After we exchanged complements to eachother and I showed him how big my social finger was I trudged even further upstream, now dejectedly trying to get away from people. I didn't have much further to travel when I spotted a few fish darting in and out of the current. I positioned myself and after a few FUBARed casts I finally found the perfect drift and I was on another chrome! After I fought the fish for a few minutes I decided to try and get an action shot. Remembering the last time that I did this I dropped my camera so I did two things 1) I had a strap around my neck and 2) I climbed up the nearest bank. As I snapped the first picture my line came flying right at my face as my tippet snapped! After that things pretty much went down hill. One fish was so big that it snapped my hook right in two...he kept the hook shank and I got the upper part of my fly. Another fish that I fought and tried to get to shore was so tired that as I was bringing it in to shore the current turned her sideways right under a submerged tree and I had to snap her off so that the fish could get away. Oh well. I can't wait to go again!

Another great story. I cant stand boats. I was fishing a deep channel off the beach when I was in florida 2 weeks ago and i saw a school jacks cruising the shallows and into the channel. I hurried to get enough line out and just as a I was about fire my clouser into the school a jet-ski party cruised by sending the school of fish scattering. I hate jet skiers and boaters in general. Also when i was fishing the muskegon from a boat (the water was too high to wade) these noobs couldnt figure out how to get their boat out of reverse and completely tore up our run. It sucked. I guess all wade fishermen have a common enemy.
