True Or Not? Hey, There are a ton of sayings out there ... you know, the ones fishermen have been saying since the beginning of time .... i'd like to hear some that anyone else out there has heard ... and if they have found them to be mostly true or mostly nonsense ... Referring to Northeast USA Saltwater Wind, "Southwest Fishes The Best, Northeast Fish The Least" .... In my experience very true. Rerferring to Trout Fishing in Maine, "If the cows in the pastures are laying down, the fishing won't be good. If they are standing up, it will be good." ... Still testing this theory Anyone else got any? (because they have a very "hard tale") ... here it goes .. "they don't call them hard tales because of their tales" .... this is ABSOLUTELY true ... anyone who has spent time chasing bonito, albies, bluefin etc... will attest that they are very elusive .. and hard in many ways to catch .. finding them can be difficult .. seeing them can be difficult .. knowing where and what tides can be difficult .. from foot is tough ... getting them to eat your fly is hard .. and they have some crazy way of always staying one step ahead of you ... so i love this saying .. and definately love fly fishing for hard tales ... it is hard but the sense of accomplishment if you can "get it done" .. is awesome!
