More like Reds and Blacks. Took Capt. Barrett Brown out of New Orleans on a guided trip. Fricking fantastic. He was very, very good. Despite the poor conditions he put us on fish. Can't wait to get back down there!!! 1 Flounder, 3 Black Drum (19,23and 27lbs), 2 Red Drum (9 and 11lbs)

Hey, you omitted that first picture on Tidalfish Very Happy

Looks like you had tons of fun there.

The fighting qualities of the red and black are very different. The red is by far the stronger fish. The red has a more continuous fight in him. The black is like a bull dog on a chain. He would pull strong for a few seconds then quit, pull strong quit, pull strong quit. The 19 lber was a sissy. Pound for pound probably the weakest fish I have ever caught. The 27 lber made a strong first run and was tough to turn. The guide even mentioned that it made an unusually strong run. What suprised me the most was the take. Reds are extremely aggressive and if they saw your fly would come and get it. The black, you had to make a cast. When you thought he saw it, twitch it a bit and let it sit. The ugly mug would crawl over to it, eat it, and swim off. When you saw your line get tight you ripped it tight. Barrett said they will very rarely chase a fly. If I had to choose......I would choose reds over blacks. But, I would not pass on tossing a fly in a blacks direction any day. Vey cool, ugly fish. Plus they can get HUGE!!!

Fat Out!

Glad to see you aren't dead. Quit traveling so we can get up and hit some water. I'm hitting a nice secret spot in the mountains on Saturday if you're up for it. In other words, I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

NF.. I have been telling Matt that for sometime. I think he is allergic to the salt.

Matt.. You have just recieved and invitation to Camp Chaos. Invitations are only given out once. Take advantage of it. It won't happen again. But, be careful.....Camp Chaos will change you forever.....its a like a trip to Michael Jacksons Never Land....you will leave having violated a many fish....without having to use liquer in a coke can.

Fat- I just saw the pictures of your new addition. You must be proud.

NF- I've tried to get up with you guys a couple of times over the spring and summer. Schedules have not been on our side. Everytime I called Seth to say I could get down there, he had to go off and fish in Colorado, chase tarpon, or some other far off distant location. I'm going to get a condo for a long weekend before too long. I have to see when its available. Looks like late summer/ early fall is when I'll show up. And by the way, don't ask for any more pictures of peoples girlfriends. I really mean that.

- Don't forget that when you guys are ready for some trout, I got the places!

I hate I missed the honey spread out on the bed, that had to have been a california king with the sails of a 40ft scooner used as a comforter. But, i'm sure she was hot.

NF- I will see you in the morning.

Matt- I will catch a tailing red in the morning for you.

And I will catch a 20+ rainbow for you. I'm taking the camera this time. I have made my checklist, already checked it twice, and am ready to go. Maybe busting my balls will eventually get me down there, huh? When the mountains are this close to me and the coast is that close to you, it's hard to head in the other direction, right?

BTW- you missed no such honey spread. I didn't even realize she was on a bed.
