Hello All,
I intend to be in the Naples area around mid March and would like to get out and wet a line. Anyone able to recommend a great guide in that area?
Thanks

Send a private message to Marshall D who posts on this site...He's from Maine, but winters in Naples. He'll be able to point you in the right direction...

i have fished "alot" (in a very relative and subjective sense) down in naples area ... i am also good friends with a few guides/shops ... like all things and services and purchases ... i think guides are no different and a good trip for you is dependant on what you are looking for .. are you looking for cheap? wading? learning? moderately priced? hard core sawing down trees deep in the everglades? just catch alot of stuff? target only big tarpon? off shore fishing wrecks? backcountry sight fishing? on foot tamiami trail? ..... these are the things you need to ask yourself .. and then find a guide that matches your respective expectations ... here are 3 friends/guides of mine that i have fished with and recommend .. each has their own styles and benefits .. which of their style and benefits match your expectations, only you can answer .. maybe none of them do, that's possible too ... with all that said ... i can only offer you my personal network and experiences and knowledge (which i know is only a small piece of the puzzle) but its all i got to offer .. and maybe a good place to start ...

visit these and investigate .. all good friends .. and if you contact any, be sure to say jeremy from fliesnadfins.com recommended them .. because, at the end of the day .. they are all good people, good fly fisherman and passionate about what they do ... but as you will see .. their approaches and styles are different .. maybe one of their styles interests you, maybe not - good luck. have fun .. great fishin' down there for sure.

ps.. check out our network site .. owned by dave tepper (headrush999) .. www.fliesandfinssouth.com ... good tips about fly fishing down there and he knows infinately more than me ..

Thanks to all who replied about the Naples area guide. It's so amazing to have a resource like this. If anyone ever needs any guidance about the Beaverkil river be sure to contact me. I'd love to return the favor.
