I was going to ty some egg sucking leeches but I was out of material. I then looked over at my black dog and his long hair and I wondered if it would work....it did...my wife is going to kill me. We'll have to change our dogs name to patches! Laughing

ya .. i often fly fish with my yellow lab and when i reach areas of a river that are unproductive and not really great fishing water .. i throw a stick and let juneau swim and get some energy out .. i noticed one time while he was swimming that he naturally has hair that repels water ... must be some sort of oil in his hair or something, but the water literally forms beads and rolls off his back .... so, i got home and cut a big chunck of hair of his back/side adn tied up some "lab hair caddis" ... they worked for sure ... but, the problem was that the patch i cut out of him took a LONG time to grow back ... so, i figured i would stick with elk hair for the time being .. rather than turn my lab into frenkenstein ...
