Hello,
I am from germany and just plan my holidays. I was thinking about fishing the Margaree River (Nova Scotia) in the first or second week of June for Salmon. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea. Maybe its better to go later in the year.
As you can imagine I would like make sure that I am going at the right time (Canada is not quite around the corner).
Thanks for your help in advance!
David

I go to the Margaree River every year with friends, we usually go in June but because the fish were late last year we are going in July this year. Atlantic Salmon were off their usual runs last year, no one seems to know why and speculation is useless. I love the Margaree valey and you will find there are several other Salmon rivers in the area so you can switch rivers if one is running better than another as happned last year. The whole Eastern seaboard of Atlantic Canada had a problem with off schedule runs last year, that said, with several good rivers around you should be successful.
