I made it up to the roach river in september. The fishing was great! Lots of salmon. I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on how the roach river fishes in the spring. I have heard that where the roach dumps into moosehead lake can be good when the ice goes out. Is this true? any info would be great! Thanks
It's a really long walk to the mouth, I'd not recommend it. But you can launch/rent a boat at Casey's Camps and motor to the mouth, anchor up get out and wade. It can be Ok. It's not all it's cracked up to be to me tho. Does not open until May 1 I believe. check the regs ...c and r too. For my taste the Roach is just plain too crowded. period. I prefer the East Outlet and the West Branch. good fishing
