While Julie was having here eye surgery today I skipped on over to the Tackle Shop to see Dana. I managed to find some tying stuff I just had to have. I also remembered to get tickets to the FF Film tour.
On our way home I hit the PO. The RailRiders stuff was in.
Sweet! - I gotta do the same and head down to the tackle shop .... unfotunately, (for me not Dana;) .. when I go down to buy fly tying materials from him i quickly realize that I SUCK at fly tying and it highly unlikely that I will be able to tie the flies that he and all you guys tie throughout the winter .. His bunker patterns (in both blue and olive) are simply deadly on the stripers .. it always gets a big worrisome when I am down in Rhode Island and low on Dana's flies .. because, his flies produce lots of fish and big fish ... and when I run out of his flies .. I notice a big decline in "catching" -- maybe I'll run down this afternoon and pick up some "fly tying materials:)" ... I am definately a better fly buyer than fly tier .. fortunately I am lucky to have lots of friends who are incredible fly tiers ....
PS. linesides - did you ever trying fishing that lobster fly pattern?
PPS. I hear some of our striped friends are starting to show here in Maine ... like you and every other salter in maine - i am hoping for a good season for stripers and bluefin.
