Hey All,
I got a SICK gift for my first Fathers Day this year. My honey is sending me to Wyoming with my father-in-law and brother-in-law. We're looking at the 2nd week of Sept. I'm going to get at least one day on the water. It looks like we'll be in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. Anyone know a good guide to take a few of out at least one half day? Ideally I'd love to hit two rivers on two days but if there was only one you could do in that area what would it be? I'm a sucker for trout! Thanks in advance!

Wow! That is a sick gift and if you love trout .. you are going to love Wyoming. It is trout paradise for sure. I can't say that I personally know any guides to recommend in that specific region of which you speak .. but, there are no lack of fly shops and guide services and others on this site may have some suggestions. I was out there in that region a couple years ago at about that time of year and the fishing was spectacular. I especially remember and enjoyed fly fishing on the snake river with grand teton mountains in the background. I caught plenty of nice trout on hoppers and nymphs and that was great, but the awe inspiring scenery made the experience spectacular. Infact, on that trip i had fished many different states and many different rivers and, to be honest, the one place that sticks in my memory the most is the snake river in/around jackson wyoming. Have fun enjoy and good luck ... So, if you only have one day to get on the water ... I would definately consider doing it in Jackson Wyoming. Hope this helps a little.
Here is a fish tale and a couple pics from that trip I mentioned to Wyoming. Beautiful mountain range and trout, I look forward to returning. Hope you have a similar experience. If those tetons mountains don't move you, nothing will.

sick gift for sure. i spent 10 days in wyoming, crashing in jackson last september and i agree with jeremy - the area around jackson is amazing. as he said, there are surely a ton of fly shops and guides. in jackson, i'd check out high country flies and also world cast anglers. here is a post from my trip last fall: http://solidhookups.blogspot.com/2008/09/tetons.html
in regards to your question about rivers, i say fish the snake and as many of its tribs as possible. if you're a drift boat guy, hit the snake and/or the south fork. if you like wading, hit the tribs of the snake.
