| what is the sppokiest fish to catch...or the hardest fish to land either by unhooking itself or snapping the line. What is the hardest fish to find and what is the hardest fish to entice to eat? whats your opinion? |

| older larger smallmouth in low clear water, they didnt get that big for no reson. And of corse snook, I also find carp to be realy tough as well on all aspects: spooky, fight hard and long and you cant get a lip on them. |

Hardest to land.... Lady fish takes the winner in my book. I have braught lord knows how many lady fish to the side of the boat or get them close to me only to have them just magically unhook right before my eyes an swin away like nothing even happened. Hardest to land fight wise, mature tarpon has always been a tricky one for me being 5'5" weighing only 122 I'm a small semi stocky guy but on fly makes it even harder with a fish the size of me fighting above and under water. I've had countless breaks, spits of the hook, an just plain old bad luck when it comes to a tarpon. Hardest to entice to eat on fly would probably be sharks, I don't know why but I just can't get a bite on fly with sharks. I've tried several times but never do I prevail.
But again these are in my opinion an experience. |

Big browns during the day are the hardest to catch. Also steelhead can be hard to catch in general

| Probably big Ozark Stream smallmouth, or big 2lb plus sunfish can be really hard to get to take fly maybe more picky than heavily preasured trout. Black drum are also hard to catch. |

Spookiest fish is a tie between the Grass Carp and Permit in my opinion. Both are very weary.
The hardest to hook and land would be a Tarpon due to their boney mouth and jumping abilities. (Reeladdicted- Lady fish are tough to hang on to sometimes, but this is a good thing. If you land them they poop all over the boat and on you!)
The hardest fish to find is a tough question. But, the hardest to entice to eat is once again a tie between the Grass Carp and the Permit. Permit are extremely hard to get to eat the fly. Each fish is different, and each reacts differently to each presentation. They offer me the most challenge, and that is why I respect and love chasing them so much |

| i can agree to permit. So far i have only caught one on spinning and that was one hell of a ride! I have only begin to dream of what it might be like on fly. |

| i agree with rustayy about the permit, but i can't tell anything about carp. where i live bonefish are snook are tricky but the permit is one of the most spooky, nervous fish. |

I think that in freshwater, musky are the hardest to catch. Hours can be spent casting a 10 wt with 400 grain sinking line and a 14" fly without a strike. They can be big hard fighting fish and they have teeth. I have very little experience with salt water so permit might be harder but I don't know

| I Fly fish for snook, redfish to tarpon then head up back north to Ohio and fish smallmouth, carp and finally steelhead. Carp by far wins my vote! |
