Yea there is good fishing by Middlebury. I was just up there this past weekend and talked with some teachers that work at Middlebury and they thought it was great. There are a bunch of rivers around that area along with a bunch of smaller streams with brook trout.

I wish I had seen this post last spring! I went to middlebury college, the fly fishing in the area is fantastic. if you want to fish small mountain streams for wild brookies you can do that.. if you want to hunt some bigger water for large trout and pike you can do it as well.
the best site to follow the fishing in this area is www.streamandbrook.com
if I only had one day in Midd and wasnt familiar with the streams I would hit the downtown area right below the falls (you cant miss it) early in the morning w a big olive or white colored streamer. that is the otter creek. big trout water. the middlebury river itself is a GEM but a bit trickier to know where to park and fish. PM me anytime for more info. |
