ok...i read something recently that goes against all logic and shatters the way i have perceived things in the salt water for my entire life. here is what i read...baitfish (i am talking schools of baitfish like bunker, silversides etc...) leave the harbors on the incoming tides. what - my entire life - i have thought that all that bait would be dumped out into the ocean during the outgoing tide. sure enough i was striper fishing last night and i was in the middle of loads of fish and waves of bait. i must say the tide was coming in and the silversides were moving out. the bait was so thick it looked like oil slicks on the water and they were in big pods - all of the bods were working their way out of the harbor and into the open ocean.
anybody got any information to verify this or any thoughts? --- it is just perplexing because, naturally, one would think that the baitfish would make their migrations whether they wanted to or not on the outgoing tide.

Down in Naples I have often seen bait moving against the tide in the passes. When they move along the riprap these tiny fish seem to be able to move "upstream" relatively easy. It is always a blast to see the bait being ambushed against the riprap by Jacks and Snook.
My best spot used to be Doctors pass but since they have dregded the inlet I had not much luck down there.
