I have had some bad luck with sunglasses during the past years. First I lost my Orvis patroits somewhere at Carl Johnson park down Fort Myers way. Next I buy the same glasses while on sale at Mark's when one of the glasses fell out while at the beach, I had the luck that someone told me that the glas had dropped. The replacement set had the same trouble but this time the glass fell on the pavement. That did it so I keep away from Orvis glasses for the time being.
What glasses are good and decently priced?.
Maybe somebody could tell me what I should look for and what I should avoid. |

I would recommend Spy Optic. Spy has sport pieces that are made from polycarbonate lenses (will never crack) and they are interchangeable. They also have a ventilation sytem to help prevent fogging. I would suggest the Spy Meteor, Micro Scoop, HS Scoop or the Espada. Go for polarized lenses. You can order all of these products from Backcountry.com. Check out the link below.

I have booked the website and will probably get one pretty soon.
I could not find a local dealer for the Netherlands but a relative of mine is going to Oregon pretty soon so he could fetch me one.
It´s good that Jason mentioned the anti-fogging construction. I tend to sweat like the proverbial pig so fogging was a problem with the old glasses. Since they haven´t invented glasses with intergral heating yet that feature might come in handy.
Can anyone make a statement about glass lenses versus plastic ones ? |

| Glass lenses do not scratch as easily as Polycarbonate. Not that Polycarbonate is easy to scratch in the first place. But glass can break. It is impossible to shatter Polycarbonate. |

| Well, I know an even better plan. I am going to order the glasses online, send them to an adress of my relatives contact in Oregon and let my relative take it back to the Netherlands. Then I can also ship various items from Cabela's to the same adress and the whole lot will be delivered to my door without duties and taxies ! |
