The Flyfishing was awesome. Here are some of the highlights of our trip. Joey and I had doubles on about every 5 minutes. We fished Glacier Rivers full of pink salmon. We fished the White River, again, full of pink and chum salmon. All rivers were fished the same. Intermediate line 6 to 7 foot leaders with egg sucking leach pattern. We fished 8 and 9 weight rods but could have used 5 and 6 weight. The pink salmon averaged 4 to 7 lbs the chum 8 to 12 lbs. Locals call the chum salmon “dog salmon” because they would feed them to the dogs. A lot of the locals still do!! There is so much to say about Alaska, if Alaska is the size of the contiguous USA then all I saw was ½ of New Jersey. The mountains, rivers, glaciers, and the people all so sweet! Life seems slower here no one is in a hurry. The people just like being there and it really shows, no bitching about the weather or the cost of food etc. they truly love life. I hope you all enjoy this short video. I really can’t put the words together to describe how untamed and beautiful Alaska is. Next year.. Kodiak Island.! See ya on the rivers somewhere Joe-m
