Fly Fishing: It Is What It Is

The world outside of flyfishing can be a rough place. Currently, the housing market is down, financial markets are down, banks, cars…and as a result, people’s spirits. I have 12 rods for a range of different fishing scenarios and my plan is to use every one of them this season with such zeal that whatever else happens, I won’t have time for. Once in a while I’ll stick my head out and look around. If I see that things aren’t better, then its back to a river, stream or pond. Whether good or bad, “it is what it is.” Eventually things will improve. This is the bad end of a cycle but it is just a cycle. In the meantime, I’ll fish and I’ll fish hard. My advice to you is this: If you’re an avid fly fisherman this is the year of years to fish, Times are hard but the fishing and the time for it are great. I love a good recession; I’ll just fish until it’s over!
