Usually in July, finding water that holds Brookies is difficult, so you spend years looking for water that is 65 or less and moving, a fly that has the right combo of flashy colors and go after Brookies. I went to a stream and caught Brookies with my light Bamboo rod and had a great time until I spotted bigger fish, first one then another and what I thought were rocks on the bottom were a lot of Big Brown Trout. Big Browns laying in the cool water and paying no attention to my flies. Once in a while you could see one pushing water on top but try as I might, no takes. There were no bait fish in the water and hatches were miniscule. Stealth may be the answer or not. Any ideas?
