Buck And Trout VideoHi Speed Only

Dale and I started our trek about 3:00 a.m.. We were heading to what I consider my home stream which is Utah’s green river. I didn’t have great expectations as the water was only around 750 cfs. A bad day on the green is still a lot of fish, and one can catch fish with dry flies year round. The fish were a bit lethargic first thing but we managed to trick a few. We got up to the rock that I like to eat a snack from and there was a few fish around. I noticed one cutthroat in particular and they always seem to be by this big rock. I had feed them bread in the past during a hatch and wondered if they would eat it again with no hatch. Sure enough they greedily ate it up (as you can see in the video). We worked our way up to the “sure thing hole”. I call it that as fish seem to always be rising there. We got quite a few on top in the hole (which was good as Dale was struggling a bit). It turned out to be a fun trip as we saw 7 bull elk and buck mule deer. Just an average day on the Utah’s green river.
