I’m standing on a shelf in the middle of the Kennebec River at Shawmut today, when my friend, Jeremy comes sliding gracefully along in his kayak. We are good friends and hope to fish together soon, but the greetings were brief. It’s our philosophy that the season’s too short to spend time ialising when there are fish to be persued…so Jer headed up river and I remained on the shelf, casting, drifting, mending, waiting for rising fish. It was great to be out there on the river. The more I go, the more I appreciate the good things the river gives…fish, friends, glorious days.
