This is the only fish I have a picture of as my camera fell out of my vest on the bank, but he’ll do. There were many brookies in this hole but you had to fish to them down stream. I used a Pheasant tale #14 and drfted down to them raising and lowering my rod tip. Once I got the right rythym I started catching brookies like the one in the picture, several larger but all in these bright colors. Brookies seemed to be the only fish in the brook. They were slurping those #24 spinners at first, Black with steel wings, then some very small Brown mayfly looking insects hatched for a brief period and there were fish all over the top. This only lasted 15 minutes and it takes longer than that to switch out flies when your looking for the right one. My stream side insect guide was in the truck, now I remember why they call it stream side guide.
